Attention Students:
K.I.S.D. is part of a state-wide Tobacco Education and Prevention
Campaign.
Smoking is not cool and will give you
many health problems like
BREATHING.
It is against the law for Minors under 18 to purchase or use tobacco
products. (this includes chewing tobacco and snuff)
There are severe consequences for violating this law. The courts require
minors to attend an 8 hour tobacco awareness program, perform tobacco
related public service or pay a fine up to $250.00. A judge is also
allowed the right to suspend or delay the issuance of a minor's drivers
license and/or require the parent or guardian to attend tobacco
awareness classes along with the minor.
